During the spring, summer and fall months you can travel from downtown Truckee, drive along Donner Lake and go up historic Route 40 to the top of Donner Summit. Stop at the top for breathtaking views, then continue on the ‘old road’ and back to I-80 for a short drive before exiting at Hwy. 20. One way or the other, make sure you travel through Fascinating Nevada County and experience all it has to offer!
